This classic hot chocolate is everything you could want a hot chocolate to be – thick and creamy, perfect for a cold winters day
There’s nothing I’d rather do on a cold, winters day than sit down, preferably next to an open fire, and sip on a mug of this classic hot chocolate. I am sure I’m not alone on that one. What I enjoy about making my own hot choc is that I can make it exactly how I like it. Some of the hot chocolates I’ve had in the past haven’t quite cut it, or been particularly healthy, which made me to make my own.
I like my hot chocolate thick, so naturally this recipe is pretty indulgent. It is also warm, comforting and just like a big hug in a mug.
If you’re a fan of flavoured hot chocolate, like peppermint for example, simply replace the cinnamon with a drop of peppermint oil for a deliciously minty hot chocolate. I’m sure it would work well with others flavours like orange but peppermint is the only one I have tried and tested myself.
You can also make this extra special with the addition of vegan marshmallows, flakes of chocolate and a cinnamon stick. But if you don’t have these hand it tastes incredible on it’s own too.
This Classic Hot Chocolate is:
