I’m a true believer in breakfast and it saddens me to see many people skip this meal of the day so when Alpro got in touch asking if I’d like to be involved in their ‘Make Over Your Morning’ campaign I was more than happy to take part. It’s all about inspiring small changes that will help you feel happier and better able to tackle the day ahead. For me this means waking up, drinking a litre of water, doing some stretching or morning yoga and making myself a nourishing breakfast. Regardless of what you do in the morning, having a good breakfast is a must; it’s the fuel your body needs to start the day right and there’s no excuses not to do so.
Alpro have a range of soy-based yoghurts and have a huge range of flavours, including plain, almond and coconut, which come in big pots. It’s great to have a range of plant-based alternatives like this available that are thick and creamy just like ‘traditional’ yoghurt. While it’s not something I eat everyday, I often yoghurt in bircher muesli, smoothie bowls or with a serving of fruit; especially in the warmer seasons when I feel like something cool.
I was kindly sent a selection of Alpro yoghurt to play around with, while the options were endless I opted to make a sweet and simple raspberry and almond smoothie. Simply because it’s something that tastes good on it’s on, meaning it can be enjoyed in a jar to take on the go or if you want to tart it up a little, can be enjoyed as a smoothie bowl if you have the time.
How do you make your morning?
To make one smoothie you will need:
4 ripe bananas
1 cup of frozen raspberries
½ cup of alpro almond yoghurt
½ cup of oatmeal (optional)
- Simply place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smoothie
- Pour into a bowl and top with your favourite toppings or alternatively pour into a reusable jar to take with you on the go
