The great thing about making your own juice is that it’s fresh, cheap and there’s no added sugar – it’s just not necessary when you’ve got the taste of sweet, ripe fruit – especially watermelon. Watermelon juice has quickly become my go to drink this summer and as long as this beautiful fruit stays in season (and on the supermarket shelves) I’m going to be sipping on this. It’s sweet, delightful and incredibly easy to create. All you need is blender, no fancy juicer required for this one. Simply scoop the watermelon into the blender, blend for 30 seconds, add a splash of lime and there you have it, melonade at the ready! As well as tasting delicious, it’s perfectly refreshing and is great for hydration because each watermelon contains around 92% water! It also contains plenty of vitamin A which does wonders for your skin.
To make 400ml you will need:
The juice of 4 limes
Cut the watermelon into half. Scoop out the flesh and place into the blender. Blend for 30 seconds or so until smooth. Strain the juice to remove the pulp. Once removed, stir in the lime juice. Pour the melonade over some icecubes or refrigerate until cool.
